UK Tier 2 Visas to Change to Skilled Worker Visas and Health and Care Work Visas

The UK government has announced that it will be changing the Tier 2 visa to two new visas: the Skilled Worker visa and the Health and Care Work visa.

At Jobs and Visas we continue to be surprised by how many people still refer to the UK tier 2 visa even though this was changed on 1 December 2020.

The Skilled Worker visa will be for skilled workers who have a job offer from a UK employer that is on the government's list of eligible sponsors. The visa will allow workers to stay in the UK for up to five years, and they will be able to bring their family members with them.

The Health and Care Work visa will be for workers who want to work in the health or care sector in the UK. The visa will allow workers to stay in the UK for up to three years, and they will be able to bring their family members with them.

The government says that the changes are designed to make it easier for businesses to recruit skilled workers from overseas, and to support the NHS and social care sector.
